China Watcher - Seventh Maria Weber Annual Conference

Wednesday, 10 May, 2017 - 09:00
Milan, Assolombarda Confindustria Milano Monza e Brianza

The Belt–and–Road initiative (BRI) proposed by Xi Jinping in 2013 is a commitment to build networks of connectivity along the existing and planned international routes from various regions of China across Central and South Asia to Europe as a terminal point. The BRI is not just a way of reviving ancient trade links between Asia and Europe, but an ambitious programme with massive economic and geo–political impact on various regions in Asia, Europe and also Africa. What are the global economic and geo–political implications of the BRI? What opportunities and challenges of BRI, especially in the EU and Italy?

The conference will be held in Milan on May 10 at 9.00 a.m. at Assolombarda Confindustria Monza e Brianza (Auditorium – Via Pantano, 9).
