MED 2017 is the 3rd edition of the annual high–level initiative, co–organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). This event is intended to turn Rome into a global hub for high–level dialogues on the broader Mediterranean, with a view to re–thinking traditional approaches and drafting a new "positive agenda". MED will benefit from the contribution of 800 leaders in business, politics and culture - including 45 heads of state, ministers and international organisation leaders - and 80 think tanks and international institutions from 56 countries of the Mediterranean region and beyond.
In support of Rome MED 2017 the Italian Institute for International Political Studies has produced the Report "Looking ahead: Charting New Paths for the Mediterranean". The volume sheds light on current dynamics and future developments in the enlarged Mediterranean region at the political, security and socio-economic level. To this aim, the Report collects insights, analyses and policy recommendations from different perspectives and countries, also thanks to the collaboration of 15 scientific partners.
