Antonio Villafranca is ISPI Research Coordinator and Co-Head of the Europe and Global Governance Centre. He is lecturer in International Relations and in European Economic Policies at the Bocconi University (Milan). He is also Non Resident Senior Fellow at the Chongyang Institute of the Renmin University (Beijing).
Valeria Talbot is a Senior Research Fellow and Co-Head of ISPI's Middle East and North Africa Centre, in charge of Middle East Studies. She also is a lecturer at the Master in Middle Eastern Studies in ASERI – Catholic University, and at the IULM University of Milan. She was ISPI scientific coordinator of Arab Trans, a FP7 funded research project on political and social transformations in the Arab World after the Arab uprisings in 2010-2011.
Lucia Tajoli is an Senior Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. After a BA in Political Economy at Bocconi University, she specialised in Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research at the Institute of World Economics in Kiel (Germany). In 1994 she was awarded a Ph.D. in Economics with a dissertation on the relationship between international trade and economic growth.
Carlo Secchi is Vice-President of ISPI since 11 July 2005. He was President of ISPI for the second semester of 2016. Currently he his Professor Emeritus of European Economic Policy at Bocconi University in Milan, where he was Rector in the period 2000-2004 and Full Professor between 1983 and 2011. He was the Chairman of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission (2003-2016) and he has been a member of the board of scientific Foundations and Institutions and an advisor to various Italian and foreign research Institutes, to Italian public Institutions and to the European Union.
Lia Quartapelle is a Research Fellow of the Africa Programme at ISPI. She lectures the module of Policies for Development Cooperation at the University of Pavia. She is an economist by training and she holds degrees from the Universities of Pavia and Florence. She got a Master of Science in Economics with reference to Africa at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and a PhD in Development Economics at the University of Pavia with a dissertation on aid and employment in Ghana and Mozambique.
Chiara Proietti Silvestri is analyst at the Bologna-based energy consultancy Rie-Ricerche Industriali ed Energetiche, focusing on the economic and political dynamics of the main global energy issues. At ISPI, Chiara is author of the “Energy Security Focus” for the Foreign Policy Observatory of the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She currently works on the energy developments in the Mediterranean area, with particular attention to the EastMed gas discoveries.
Alessandro Pio is Senior Scientific Advisor at ISPI. Previously, he worked as Resident General Director of the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) North American Representative Office (NARO) in Washington DC. Pio joined ADB in 1993 and became programs economist for Viet Nam, where he was posted from 2000 to 2004, and Country Director in Sri Lanka, where he helped coordinate the aid agencies post-tsunami reconstruction response. Before joining ADB, he was a professor at Bocconi University where he taught macroeconomics and development economics.
Antonella Mori is Head of the ISPI Latin America Programme. Ph.D. in Economics at the Catholic University of Milan; MSc in Economics of Latin America, University of London and BA in Economics and Social Sciences at Bocconi University. She teaches Macroeconomics and Economic Prospects at Bocconi University and Macroeconomics and Political Economy at the Master's course in Diplomacy at ISPI. In 2011 she received an official award from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for having favoured the strengthening of Italian-Latin American relations.
Paolo Magri è Vice Presidente Esecutivo e Direttore dell’Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale (ISPI) e docente di Relazioni Internazionali all’Università Bocconi. È inoltre Segretario del Gruppo Italiano della Trilateral Commission e Membro dello Europe Policy Group del World Economic Forum, del Comitato Strategico del Ministro degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, del Consiglio di Amministrazione della Fondazione Italia-Cina e dell’Advisory Board di Assolombarda.
