"MANAGEMENT OF HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTIONS"


AD Management of Humanitarian Interventions

In 2008, the Advanced Diploma in "Management of Humanitarian Interventions" contains an extra course with the doubling up of the Sphere Course. The programme consists of five courses, three to be held in class and two through Distance Learning. In order to obtain the Advanced Diploma students must attend five courses (3 in classroom + 2 in distance learning). The 2 courses in distance learning should be chosen among the three offered.

Courses:

  • Sphere course I – Quality standards: Introduction and Humanitarian Charter; Water and Sanitation; Health (ISPI, Milan, 13-14 May 2008)
  • Sphere course II – Quality standards: Education; Food and Nutrition; Shelter, Settlement, Non Food, Communication (ISPI, Milan, 15-16 May 2008)
  • Working in the field: management of Humanitarian Projects (ISPI, Milan, 14-15 March 2008)
  • Coordination of the multilateral response to humanitarian crises (Distance Learning, 19 February 2008)
  • Migration (Distance Learning, 18 April 2008)
  • Humanitarian Protection (Distance Learning, 12 March 2008)

    All classes will be held in English.  

    The aim of this programme is to provide the necessary instruments for anyone operating in international missions of humanitarian aid; attention is focused on the most important aspects of work in the field as well as interaction with relevant persons. As a means of guaranteeing this, the Faculty stems from International Organisations and NGOs.

    REQUIREMENTS AND COSTS

    The Advanced Diploma is open to all those who have previously taken an ISPI Diploma in "Emergencies and Humanitarian Intervention" and/or those who have acquired significant experience in organisations active in cooperation and/or humanitarian intervention.

    A good knowledge of English is required of all participants as all materials and all classes will be in English.

    Cost of the Advanced Diploma, including educational materials, is 800 euro.


    PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR THIS ADVANCED DIPLOMA.

To sign up for the Advanced Diploma it is necessary to complete the application form, to be sent by email to valeria.sciacovelli@ispionline.it or by fax to +39-02-863.313.221 – by 21 February 2008).
For confirmation of participation, it is necessary to pay the cost of enrolment to the administrative office at ISPI (Monday-Friday, 2pm-5pm) or by Bank Transfer ( the details of which are shown on the application form) sending a copy of the transfer receipt by fax (+39-02-863.313.264)– by 21 February 2008).
The administrative office will then acknowledge the enrolment by email or by phone.
The Advanced Diploma has limited places available, and will only take place if an adequate number of enrolments is reached.
