Armando Sanguini

Armando Sanguini is ISPI Scientific Advisor. He started his diplomatic career as commercial attache in Ethiopia to move then to Spain as Vice-Ambassador. Sanguini was Head of the Italian diplomatic mission in Chile and Italian Ambassador to Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.

He took part in several short missions in Canada, China, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Turkey, Russia and Venezuela.

In Italy he was Deputy Director General for the Unit responsible for Italians living abroad and foreign citizens in Italy and Assistant Secretary-General for the reform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Director General for the promotion of cultural relations abroad and in charge of cultural institutes and Italian schools in the world, he was also Director General for Sub-Saharan Africa and therefore Personal Representative of the President of the Council for the entire African continent.

Ambassador Sanguini left the diplomatic career in late 2008.
