Arturo Varvelli is Senior Research Fellow at ISPI and Co-Head of ISPI's Middle East and North Africa Centre, in charge of North Africa Studies. He also works as a scholar on topics such as Italian-Libyan relations, Libyan domestic and foreign politics, Italian foreign policy in the Middle East and Mediterranean region, Jihadist groups in North Africa, having published both books and articles on these subjects.

Lorenzo Vidino is an academic and security expert specialised in Islamism and political violence within Europe and North America. Currently, he directs the Radicalization and International Terrorism Centre at ISPI. He also worked at ETH Zurich, the RAND Corporation, Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, and the U.S. Institute of Peace. Vidino worked as a lecturer at Tufts University, the University of Maryland (START), the National Defense University and at the University of Zurich.
Valeria Talbot is a Senior Research Fellow and Co-Head of ISPI's Middle East and North Africa Centre, in charge of Middle East Studies. She also is a lecturer at the Master in Middle Eastern Studies in ASERI – Catholic University, and at the IULM University of Milan. She was ISPI scientific coordinator of Arab Trans, a FP7 funded research project on political and social transformations in the Arab World after the Arab uprisings in 2010-2011.
Andrea Plebani is Research Fellow at the Catholic University of Milan, Lecturer of the Master in Middle Eastern Studies at ASERI and Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. He is a member of the Commission convened by the Italian Government to assess the threat stemming from radicalization and jihadist extremism in Italy. Before, he cooperated with the Oasis Foundation, the Insubria Centre on International Security (ICIS) and the Landau Network - Centro Volta (LNCV).
Paolo Magri è Vice Presidente Esecutivo e Direttore dell’Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale (ISPI) e docente di Relazioni Internazionali all’Università Bocconi. Nicoló Maganza is Assistant Research Fellow for the Europe and Global Governance Center at ISPI. Nicoló graduated in Law at Università Statale di Milano and in Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Before joining ISPI, Nicoló worked at the European Commission on issues related to migration, security and EU citizenship, and at the UNHCR in Paris.
Seamus Hughes is the Deputy Director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University and Associate Research Fellow for the ISPI Center on Radicalization and International Terrorism. He is an expert on terrorism, homegrown violent extremism, and countering violent extremism (CVE). Hughes has authored numerous reports for the Program including ‘ISIS in America: From Retweets to Raqqa’ and ‘The Threat to the United States from the Islamic State’s Virtual Entrepreneurs’.
