Morgan L. Kaplan is a fellow in the American Statecraft Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. His research examines U.S. foreign policy, Middle East security politics, alliances and partnerships, and civil wars.
While Kaplan’s research is focused predominantly on the Middle East, his work addresses broader trends in international security, such as the origins and outcomes of third-party intervention, self-determination movements, and transnational politics. His work has been published in Foreign Affairs, the Washington Post, Lawfare, Ethnopolitics, and elsewhere.
