Ryan M. Allen is an assistant professor at Chapman University’s Donna Ford Attallah College of Educational Studies and Coordinator of the joint doctoral program with Shanghai Normal University. His research centers on the politics of publishing, university decision-making, EdTech, and the East Asian region. He has recently published academic research in Higher Education, International Journal of Chinese Education, and the Journal of International Students, along with features in popular media such as Financial Times and University World News. In 2021, he co-edited two book volumes under Routledge, Online Teaching and Learning in Higher Education during COVID-19: International Perspectives and Experiences and Impacts of COVID-19 on International Students and the Future of Student Mobility.
