Palestinian Electoral Limbo: What's Next?

 

The Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas announced the Palestinians parliamentary elections have been postponed. According to a presidential decree, the ballots were due to be held on May 22nd, being the first general elections in the country in 15 years. What are the implications of the postponement of the elections? How can the international community support the democratic path of Palestinians?
