Sustainable Recovery for a Green Future

t20_spring_roundtables_ispi.png

The next months will be crucial for the Think20 think tank community to produce policy recommendations in view of the Italian G20 Summit in October. This series of T20-associated events (closed-door and public Roundtables) is intended as an occasion to broaden participation in the T20 by adding new voices of international experts, civil servants, and representatives of the business community. ISPI, the T20 National Coordinator and Chair, and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY) are co-promoting the T20 Associated-event “Sustainable Recovery for a Green Future”, in cooperation with CSIS, Ecologic Institute, ERIA, KIEP, OECD and SIIS. This Public Event  is preceded by a closed-door Workshop by invitation only (see the programme), intended as an occasion to broaden participation in the Task Force (TF) “Climate Change, Sustainable Energy and Environment”.

Climate change, energy transition and sustainable growth are long-standing global challenges. Today they are made even more crucial by the Covid-induced crisis which is urging to find the right balance between the much-needed global recovery and environmental targets. What are the key ingredients of a truly sustainable recovery? How to make this recovery even more consistent with the Paris Agreement objectives? What contribution can be expected from key countries? And what to expect from multilateral efforts and in particular from the Italian G20 in 2021?

The programme of the public event can be found here.

Ispi has always been careful to ensure an inclusive working environment and to be attentive to gender diversity and to the plurality of voices represented in its initiatives. When this is not reflected in one of our publications or events, it is due to the unavailability of the consulted experts to participate or to challenges in identifying specific profiles in our network.
