Women’s Leadership in Local Communities Next Generation EU: Cities in a Post-pandemic Future

global_cities_-_21_april_3.jpg

As the world enters a new era after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Covid-19 pandemic is still upsetting our daily lives. And as 75% of EU citizens live in urban areas, cities are the most prominent stage both for responding to the health crisis, and for seizing opportunities to recover and move forward. In 2020, EU countries agreed to Next Generation EU, a €750 billion recovery package that represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

How could cities play a pivotal role in shaping the current and future implementation of the NRRPs? How are they rethinking their role within the “twin” green and digital transitions? How can they achieve gender parity, reduce inequalities, and preserve a vibrant cultural life? How can women’s leadership further the role of cities in the NGEU implementation?

The event is organized in the context of the ISPI’s “Global Cities Programme” copromoted by EuroMilano on the occasion of the publication of the ISPI-EUROCITIES Report “Next Generation EU” Cities: Local Communities in a Post-Pandemic Future.

The event will be streamed on ISPI's Facebook page and YouTube channel on Thursday 19 May, 18:00-19:00 CEST(English only).

ISPI has always been careful to ensure an inclusive working environment and to be attentive to gender diversity and to the plurality of voices represented in its initiatives. When this is not reflected in one of our publications or events, it is due to the unavailability of the consulted experts to participate or to challenges in identifying specific profiles in our network.
