China Watcher 2021 - Xi's China one year after Congress: scenarios and opportunities for companies

11th Annual Maria Weber Memorial Conference

In the fall of 2022 the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party will take place, which will confirm Xi Jinping as General Secretary for a third term, making him the longest-serving leader since Deng Xiaoping and with a status second only to that of Mao Zedong. How will relations with the United States, Europe and Italy change, also in light of the recent openness to dialogue on environmental issues and the resumption of negotiations on trade relations? What impact will the policies implemented by the Chinese government to overcome the pandemic have on Italian companies? How will consumption evolve and what will be the specific challenges and opportunities for Made in Italy?

The event was also streamed on ISPI's Facebook page, YouTube channel and website.
