Community and urban development in the globalization era. Which role for public and private actors?

Community and urban development in the globalization era. Which role for public and private actors?

According to a recent UN study, in the next 40 years, 66% of the world's population will be living in urban areas. Which role will the 'city of the future' play? How will central governments and local administrations manage to interpret the needs and expectations of their territories? What kind of contribution will instead be offered by the private sector, in particular real estate developers and large investors, in promoting growth and social cohesion?

The conference, promoted in partnership with Euromilano, was part of the ISPI Desk Global Cities activities.

Speakers: Luigi BORRÉ, President, EuroMilano; Francesca BRIA, Chief Technology and Digital Innovation Officer, City of Barcelona; Attilio FONTANA, President, Regione Lombardia; Parag KHANNA, Founder & Managing Partner, FutureMap; Pierfrancesco MARAN, Delegate to Urban Planning, City of Milan and Ugo TRAMBALLI, Senior Advisor, ISPI.
