This series of meetings stems from an initiative of Regione Lombardia, aimed to emphasize the importance of the economic and political relations with Latin America and the Caribbean countries – also and especially in difficult times like the ones we are experiencing – and the recovery and reinforcement opportunities for post-pandemic interchanges. The crisis triggered by Coronavirus represented for Latin America and the Caribbean a multiplier and a booster for other crises, of a different nature and strength, but the area is still at the core of the Italian interests – of Lombardy in particular – not only for the existent investment and interchanges, but also for future prospects. What will therefore be the strong points on which leverage and what the means? What role can the free trade agreements play and what can a Region like Lombardy do, bilaterally as much as multilaterally and at intergovernmental level?
