Ten years after the financial crisis, the global economy seems to be losing momentum. At the upcoming G20 meeting in Osaka at the end of June, world leaders will debate on how to reduce the risks posed by trade wars and the rising instabilities of the international financial system. Is a new global crisis on the horizon? Can the Japanese G20 compromise between the contrasting interests of world leaders? How can the increasing tendency towards protectionism be reduced?
These issues were discussed by international experts from Japan, China, Russia, Brasil and Europe.
Working languages were English and Italian with simultaneous translation.
The event was promoted in the context of the initiative: "Re-Launching International Trade. Joining Forces in the Japanese G20 Meetings and beyond" (programme), which brought together high-level experts from international think tanks, policymakers, businesspeople and other stakeholders to discuss the challenges of the G20 meeting in Japan (by invitation only).
