EPSO is the European Personnel Selection Office responsible for selecting staff to work for all Institutions and Agencies of the European Union including the Council, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the European Ombudsman.
Working for the EU, you can pursue many career options: considering your background, you can choose among different fields (administration, communications, economics, environment, IT, etc.), freelance work and several type of contracts including permanent contract, fixed-term contract, and temporary contract.
Selection procedures for temporary posts (usually available in highly specialised fields such as scientific research) are generally run by the institutions and agencies themselves, but the EPSO Competitions are the only way to recruit for permanent roles and fixed-term contracts.
EPSO will oversee the whole selection procedure, from submitting an online application to sitting a test in an Assessment Centre. EPSO Competitions are highly competitive and require you to have a specific training to pass the selection tests.
The 3-day EPSO Competition Training Programme is designed mainly, but not exclusively, for those applying for administrator (AD), assistant (AST), linguist and other positions, and is focused on:
- The computer-based multiple-choice tests, including verbal, numerical, abstract tests, and E-Tray exercise;
- The Assessment Centre, including case study, oral presentation, group exercise, and structured interview.
Lessons will be held in English by experts of the EPSO Competitions and include exercises, detailed corrections and explanations of the tests. During the 3rd day, there will be a simulation both of the oral presentation and the group exercises also useful to learn and show all the skills required by the selection board.
