Our Next Green World: Pillars, Trends and Challenges for a Sustainable Future

In a world hit and fragilized by the Covid-19 pandemic, innovative and sustainable solutions are necessary for a long-term recovery. The fundamental shift towards a new growth paradigm must give equal value to each of the three main dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, the social and the environmental one. New strategies and policy packages are being adopted worldwide, guided by principles such as circular economy, decarbonization of energy resources, smart cities and mobility, sustainable finance and green investments. The upcoming and future G20 Summits will be crucial to foster cooperation for a global green transition. What are the main pillars of such a transition? How will green investments and policies tackle environmental and climate crises? And what role could a more circular economy play in shaping the future of sustainable development?
