Nearly 90 years have passed since the foundation of ISPI. Throughout the decades, ISPI has stayed true to its mission as an independent observer.
In a time when it is easy to fall prey to the temptation of providing simple answers to difficult questions, ISPI’s commitment to rigour and integrity remains unaltered. In addition, the Institute puts even more efforts into combining in–depth, unbiased analysis with timely coverage of international events.
To this aim, we decided to further enlarge our Research Area, which now includes over 50 experts. Communication tools were updated to better target and engage ISPI’s audiences: from the scientific to the business community, from policy makers and international institutions to the wider public and, in particular, the youth. Along with Reports and Policy Briefs, our publications now include Dossiers, Focuses, Long Reads and Fact–checking analyses. Large conferences are paired with “instant events”, and our outreach to the public through the media and social networks was enhanced.
All this redefines the corporate identity of the Institute.
ISPI renews itself while honouring its spirit and tradition.
AN ENLARGED RESEARCH AREA
ISPI has reorganized and enlarged its research area, attracting new experts and revamping its Centres and Programmes, also thanks to a closer collaboration with companies and institutions.
In addition to our traditional Centres on “Europe and Global Governance”, "Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia", "Middle East and North Africa" (with an Iran desk), the "Asia" Centre launched a new Programme on China in collaboration with Pirelli & C., as well as an India desk. Terrorism studies are now part of the new Centre on "Radicalization and International Terrorism" created in cooperation with the George Washington University. A Centre on Cybersecurity was set up in cooperation with Leonardo S.p.A. to analyse dynamics in the cyberspace and possible threats to international security. And a new Centre for Business Scenarios – in collaboration with Sace and Intesa Sanpaolo – was specifically designed for the business community to highlight risks and opportunities worldwide.
ISPI’s renewed commitment to studies in international politics and economics is made possible thanks to 7 new experts, with additional analysts expected to join over the coming months.
