As a rapidly rising potential superpower, China's recent 19th National Congress of the ruling party has attracted worldwide attention.

This initiative brought together preeminent academics, exponents of Asiatic and European think tanks and representatives of the main Italian companies to stimulate a high-level debate with some representatives of the business community and with experts coming from Asia and Europe, around the topic of the evolution of business scenarios in Asia and their potential impact on Europe, also with the purpose of elaborating policy recommendations to promote EU-Asia relations. 

The initiative brought together selected high-level experts, businesspeople, policy makers and other stakeholders from Asia and Europe to discuss current economic shifts in Asia and their potential impact on Europe also with a view to providing policy options to foster EU-Asia relations. Specific attention was devoted to Chinese investment in Europe, its relevance for the European economy, and political reactions both at the EU and national level.

L'iniziativa ha riunito autorevoli accademici, esponenti di think tank asiatici ed europei e rappresentanti delle principali aziende italiane per stimolare un dibattito di alto livello con alcuni rappresentanti della business community e con esperti provenienti dall’Asia e dall’Europa sull’evoluzione degli scenari economici in Asia e il loro potenziale impatto sull'Europa, anche al fine di elaborare suggerimenti di policy per favorire le relazioni Ue-Asia.
