Europe’s economic activity has bounced back to pre-pandemic levels. However, the recovery also entails new challenges.
The EU economy rebounded vigorously in spring 2021 and continued riding the re-opening wave over the summer. Not only is the EU as a whole back to the pre-pandemic level of economic activity and employment in third quarter of 2021, but by 2023 it is also projected to return to the steady output path that the economy was set to follow before the pandemic, moving onto an expansionary path.

Abstract. For some years, various countries have been engaged in a race for the militarization of 'outer space' and the creation of new space forces. This race is having consequences on technology, war strategy, and international relations.
Research questions. What are the programs and resources allocated to the new Space Forces? What new technologies will future wars be fought with? What new risks are being created? Is it possible to slow down the new space race and transform this effort into economic and social opportunities?

There is no shortage in economic literature on the importance of economic diversification for healthy, resilient, and sustainable growth, and numerous real case studies support such recommendation. Put simply, a country that puts ‘its eggs in one basket’ is at the mercy of exogenous factors that go beyond any government control, thereby undermining ‘prospects for longer-term economic growth’, as put by the World Bank[1].

For the past two years, while Lebanon was dealing with a deep economic crisis, a deadly pandemic, and a ruinous explosion at Beirut port, its rulers have failed to solve their ongoing power struggle and, if anything, have made things worse.
In October 2019, thousands of protestors swept the country demanding an end to sectarian politics, incessant backdoor dealing, and corruption. None of the demands have been met thus far.
