Loris Zanatta is Professor of Latin American History at the University of Bologna (Italy). He is author of several books and articles, published in Europe and Latin America, and commentator on Latin America in various media. Among his works are "Del Estado liberal a la Nación católica. Helin Yildiz is a Research Trainee for the MENA Centre at ISPI. She holds a Bachelor's in Political Science and a Master's in International Relations and EU Studies from the University of Bologna. During her studies she took part in exchange programs at the Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium; she was also visiting research student at the University of Central Florida (USA), where she conducted academic research for her thesis on the Kurdish-led governance in northern Syria and its geopolitical impact on the region.
Yelena Yermakova holds an undergraduate degree is in Political Science from UCLA. She was recently awarded an MPA from Cornell University where she focused on the the Arctic region and the obstacles it faces in light of climate change. Currently (2018), as part of her Doctoral dissertation, she is developing a series of essays on the future governance of Antarctica within the project “Political Philosophy Looks to Antarctica,” under the supervision of Dr. Maria Alejandra Mancilla at the University of Oslo.
Dr. Tim Wittig is a Senior Research Fellow at Globalisation Studies Groningen (GSG). He is also director of the Center for Security and Sustainability and Adjunct Professor at George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
Sen Wang is a Ph. D. candidate at Guanghua Law School, Zhejiang University. His subjects are the law of the sea—specifically, the legal regime in Antarctica and the legal issues concerning the marine scientific research—and the international law.

Arturo Varvelli is the Head of the Rome Office and Senior Policy Fellow for the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and a Senior Associate Fellow at ISPI. He also works as a scholar on topics such as Italian-Libyan relations, Libyan domestic and foreign politics, Italian foreign policy in the Middle East and Mediterranean region, Jihadist groups in North Africa, having published both books and articles on these subjects.

She maintains regular contacts with EU institutions, monitors EU policies towards Eastern Partnership, Russia and Central Asian countries and coordinates advocacy actions targeting EU and other international institutions
Carlo Trezza was Italy's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and Ambassador for Disarmament and Non proliferation in Geneva. He chaired the Missile Technology Control Regime, the UN Secretary General's Advisory Board for Disarmament Matters in New York and the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
