Zhao Huirong graduated from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2006 with a PhD degree in international politics. She joined the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2001. Promoted to professor in 2016.
Siegfried O. Wolf is the Director of Research at the South Asia Democratic Forum (SADF), a Brussels-based think tank, and he is a Senior Researcher (member) at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University. He authored the book: ‘The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor of the Belt and Road Initiative Concept, Context and Assessment’ (Cham, Springer, 2019).
Antonio Villafranca is ISPI Director of Studies and Co-Head of the Europe and Global Governance Centre.
He is lecturer of International Relations at the Bocconi University (Milan), where he was also lecturer of European Economic Policies (2016-2018), and of ‘Structure of International Society’ at the IULM University. He is Non Resident Senior Fellow at the Chongyang Institute of the Renmin University (Beijing).
Brendan Vickers is Senior Associate Research Fellow at ISPI for the Africa Programme. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of London. He currently works as Head of International Trade Policy in the Trade, Oceans and Natural Resources Directorate at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.
Daniel Thumpston is a PhD student at SOAS, University of London in the department of politics and international studies. His research is within political economy and international relations with a focus on China. His research interests are centred around Chinese and European trade and investment policy, in particular the dynamics of the Belt and Road Initiative and Digital Silk Road in Europe. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he worked in research and consultancy roles in the UK and China. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and French.
Davide Tentori is a Research Fellow at the ISPI Centre for Business Scenarios, supported by Intesa Sanpaolo.
Previously, he worked for the British Embassy in Italy as Senior Trade Policy Advisor and Economic Officer, for Italy’s Presidency of the Council of Ministers as G7/G20 Policy Analyst in the Office of the Diplomatic Advisor, and as Research Associate in the International Economics Department at Chatham House – The Royal Institute of International Affairs.
Lucia Tajoli is Full Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Management Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano. Previously she was a Lecturer at Bocconi University and then an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan. She received her degree in Political Economy in 1988 and a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University in 1994.
Dr. Niklas Swanström is the Executive Director of the Institute for Security and Development Policy, and one of its co-founders. He is a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
