Andrea Plebani is Research Fellow at the Catholic University of Milan, Lecturer of the Master in Middle Eastern Studies at ASERI and Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. He is a member of the Commission convened by the Italian Government to assess the threat stemming from radicalization and jihadist extremism in Italy. Before, he cooperated with the Oasis Foundation, the Insubria Centre on International Security (ICIS) and the Landau Network - Centro Volta (LNCV).

Annalisa Perteghella, PhD, is a Research Fellow for the Middle East and North Africa Centre at ISPI. She is an expert on Middle Eastern politics, and on Europe-Middle East relations. Her recent work focuses on international security, political violence, conflict analysis and prevention, as well as the role of foresight and evaluation in European foreign policy.
Her focus areas are US politics and the Middle East, where she has lived for the past five years. An independent analyst and journalist, she produced video footage from Mosul for Italian TV while covering the battle to oust IS in Iraq. She conducted numerous interviews with Al Qaeda and IS jihadists including documentaries on de-radicalization partially filmed inside Beirut's Roumieh prison. She is a regular TV guest commentator on the US and the Middle East for the Italian national channels Mediaset, RAI, Sky etc.
Senior scholar at the Middle East Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and a long-time analyst of political transformations in Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East.
