Chiara A. Cascino was Research Assistant at the ISPI's MENA Center. She holds a BA in Modern Languages (English, Spanish and Arabic) from the University of Palermo and a MA in Arab and Islamic Studies from the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. She is also concluding a Master’s Degree in Economics and Institutions of Islamic Countries at the School of Government of the LUISS University, Rome. Her research interests focus on the history, institutions and society of Middle East and North Africa and the trends of contemporary Islam. She did extensive fieldwork in Morocco in 2014 and 2015.
Prior to ISPI, Chiara did an internship at the Unit for Analysis, Planning and Historic Diplomatic Documentation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. She has also worked as an intern at the Institut de recherches et d’études sur le monde arabe et musulman (IREMAM) at Aix-en-Provence (France).
