Irene Pasqua is the appointed Program Officer of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the Second Standing Committee on Economic and Environmental Cooperation. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Development Economics from the Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy) and a Master Degree in Resource and Environmental Economics from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Germany). She previously served as a Research Trainee for the MENA Centre at ISPI and as Research Assistant within the MENA interdisciplinary cluster at the German Development Institute. During her academic path, she conducted field research experiences in the Palestinian Territories and in South Africa. Irene’s research interests include water governance in transboundary basins, environmental conflicts, the geopolitics of natural resources and socio-economic transitions to sustainability.
