Irene Pasqua is a Research Trainee for the MENA Centre at ISPI. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Development Economics and International Cooperation from the University of Florence and she is completing her Master Degree in Environmental Economics and Development at the University of Bonn. Irene previously worked as Research Assistant at Action Research for CO-development (ARCO), a Research Spin-off of the University of Florence. During her stay in Germany, she was employed as Student Assistant within the MENA interdisciplinary cluster at the German Development Institute. In collaboration with ARCO and different NGOs, she conducted two field researches in the Palestinian territories for the collection of primary data for both her Bachelor and Master thesis. Irene’s research interests include economic development, social marginalization, geopolitics and environmental conflicts, natural resource governance and transformation to sustainability.
