US Policy Towards Islamism: Myth and Reality

The 2011 upheavals have partially reshaped the Middle East, bringing about new dynamics and new political actors. In some contexts, Islam-oriented parties and movements have emerged as the protagonists of the new political scene. In which cases the experiment of ruling Islamist parties has proved to be successful and in which cases not? How the United States policy towards Islamists could be assessed and, conversely, how US positions are perceived by Islamist movements?

ISPI International Lectures are open to Graduate Students, Post-Docs, professionals with comparable levels of experience and education, who come together in a highly-stimulating environment to discuss their current research and build informal networks with their peers.

The lectures, addressed to academics, researchers, journalists, students and doctoral candidates, are held in English.
