Climate Change: A Global Fight at a Crossroads

Ruben David
01 ottobre 2021

The need to fight climate change and keep the global temperature increase below 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels is challenging policy-makers whilst raising expectations and concerns across society. This challenge requires the profound transformation of nearly all sectors of the economy towards a decarbonized system that respects both planetary boundaries and intergenerational justice.

In this effort, multilateralism has an important role to play. The COP26, G20, G7, and Youth4Climate are all important sessions that can be conducive to creating an appropriate regulatory framework and fostering international coordination on climate action.

What can be done to raise the climate ambition necessary to meet the Paris Agreement’s objectives? Have the youth contributed to raising climate ambitions? What role for the energy and agri-food sectors in achieving climate targets?
