Andrea Teti

Andrea Teti is Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Aberdeen, Associate Editor of Middle East Critique, co-founder of the Critical Middle East Studies (CMES) group, and Trustee of the British Society for Middle East Studies (BRISMES). Previously Visiting Professor at the universities of Bologna (2020), Cagliari (2018), Ghent (2017/18) and Amsterdam (2015), he was Consortium Lead for the EU-funded Arab Transformations Project (2015-16).

Valeria Talbot

Valeria Talbot is a Senior Research Fellow and Co-Head of ISPI's Middle East and North Africa Centre, in charge of Middle East Studies. She also is a lecturer at the Master in Middle Eastern Studies in ASERI – Catholic University, and at the IULM University of Milan. She was ISPI scientific coordinator of Arab Trans, a FP7 funded research project on political and social transformations in the Arab World after the Arab uprisings in 2010-2011.

Inna Rudolf

Inna Rudolf is a Research Fellow at ICSR, pursuing her PhD at King’s College London’s Department of War Studies. She completed her master’s degree in political science and Islamic studies in 2012 at the University of Heidelberg, specialising in Conflict Resolution, Peace Building and Political Islam. During her studies, she headed the regional group on “Conflicts in the Middle East and Maghreb” at the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research. In addition to her field work in Iraq, she has lived in Libya, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia and Palestine.

Andrea Plebani

Andrea Plebani is Research Fellow at the Catholic University of Milan, Lecturer of the Master in Middle Eastern Studies at ASERI and Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. He is a member of the Commission convened by the Italian Government to assess the threat stemming from radicalization and jihadist extremism in Italy. Before, he cooperated with the Oasis Foundation, the Insubria Centre on International Security (ICIS) and the Landau Network - Centro Volta (LNCV).

Marta Montanini

Marta Montanini is an Associate Research Assistant for the Africa Programme at ISPI. She holds an MA in Afro-Asian studies at the University of Pavia. Before joining ISPI she worked as a project manager of Italian NGOs in DRC, and she studied the Arabic language at DEAC in Egypt and at Bourguiba Institut of Modern Language in Tunisia.

Alessia Melcangi is Associate Research Fellow at the Middle East and North Africa Centre at ISPI, Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Contemporary History of North Africa and the Middle East at the Department of Social Sciences and Economics, Sapienza University of Rome and Non-Resident Senior Fellow for the North Africa and Middle East Program at the Atlantic Council.

Timothy E. Kaldas

Timothy E. Kaldas is a non-resident fellow at TIMEP focusing on political analysis. His research interests include transitional politics in Egypt, regime survival strategies, and US-Egyptian relations. Beyond Egypt, his research examines the social and political history of sectarianism in Iraq, US policy towards the Arab-Israeli conflict, and discrimination against Muslim Europeans, particularly in France. He is a visiting professor at Nile University in Cairo. Mr. Kaldas holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
