Giorgio Fruscione

Giorgio Fruscione is Research Fellow and publications editor at ISPI. Before joining ISPI, Giorgio has been living for years in the Balkans, working as freelance journalist for several Italian and international media outlets, like EastWest, Venerdì di Repubblica and Balkan Insight. Since 2010, he has also been deputy director and news correspondent from the Balkans for East Journal.

Carlo Frappi

Researcher at the Department of Asian and North African Studies of Venice “Ca' Foscari” University, Carlo Frappi is Associate Research Fellow for the Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia Centre at ISPI. Frappi, who holds a Ph.D. in European History, is also Adjunct Professor in Regional Studies at Catholic University of Milan and, since 2013, is a Member of the Board of Directors at the "Association for the Italian Study of Central Asia and the Caucasus" (ASIAC).

Jean-Paul Fitoussi

Jean-Paul Fitoussi is Professor Emeritus at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), and professor at the LUISS University Guido Carli, Rome. He is also a Member of the Center for Capitalism and Society at Columbia University. Since 2013 he is Co-Chairman of the HLEG (High-Level Expert Group at the OECD) on the “Measurement of Economic Performances and Social Progress”. Fitoussi contributed to the creation and development of the EBRD.

Aldo Ferrari

Aldo Ferrari (PhD) is Head of the Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia Program at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan. He is Professor of Armenian Culture, History of the Caucasus and Central Asia, and History of the Russian Culture at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, where he is also Director of the ELEO Master’s Degree in Languages and Economies of Eastern Europe. Co-founder (2004) and President (2013-2016) of the Association of Italian Studies on Central Asia and the Caucasus (ASIAC), he is Editor of the series “Eurasiatica.

Giuseppe Famà

Giuseppe Famà joined Crisis Group in March 2018. As Head of EU Affairs, Giuseppe Famà follows European Union policies and developments and coordinates relationships with its institutions, designing and implementing targeted advocacy strategies on conflicts covered by Crisis Group. He also undertakes research and analysis of EU foreign and security policy developments, and oversees the delivery of projects in the same areas.

Sara Cristaldi

Sara Cristaldi is a Senior Advisor at ISPI and the Co-Head of the ISPI Centre on Business Scenarios. She is the editorial supervisor of the Institute's "ISPI Watch" Newsletter providing in-depth analyses of Business Scenarios in different regions of the world. She also engages in journalism and writes op-ed pieces, focusing on foreign affairs, world economy and global cities. She used to work as an editor for "Il Sole 24 Ore", the leading Italian economic and financial newspaper.

Matteo Colombo

Matteo Colombo is an ISPI Associate Research Fellow in the MENA Centre and junior researcher at Clingendael's Conflict Research Unit. He obtained a PhD in Political Studies at the University of Milan (NASP Consortium), with a thesis on the Twitter discourse about IS in Arabic. He holds a bachelor degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Milan, a Master in International Relations from Oxford Brookes and a Master in Middle East Politics from SOAS, University of London. He also holds a Master Degree in journalism at IULM University in Milan.

Eva Garcia Chueca

PhD in Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship at the University of Coimbra (Portugal). She holds a Master’s Degree in Citizenship and Human Rights: Ethics and Politics at the University of Barcelona (2010) and a European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation at the European Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (2005), undertaken in Italy and Denmark. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law at UB (2004). Since 2011, she is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra.
