Sofia Bournou joined BusinessEurope's International Relations department in July 2011. She is responsible for EU-Russia relations and relations between the EU and neighbouring countries (Eastern Partnership, South-Mediterranean and accession countries). She is also responsible for market access policies, including international investment policy, raw materials policies and the international public procurement instrument. Her responsibilities also include export controls and sanctions regimes as well as WTO issues.

Bai Shaima Baraguir is an independent scholar and a peace practitioner from the Philippines. Her areas of expertise include research, strategic planning, and conflict analysis. Bam has more than ten years of experience working on conflict in Southeast Asia. Her work on the Bangsamoro conflict includes being part of the Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law Team of the Government of the Philippines-Moro Islamic Liberation Front (GPH-MILF) International Monitoring Team (IMT) and the Conflict Management Team of The Asia Foundation-Philippines.
Dr. Pavel K. Baev is a Research Professor at the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO). He is also a Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution (Washington DC) and a Senior Research Associate at the Institut Francias des Relations Internationales (IFRI, Paris).
Plator Avdiu is Researcher at the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), a Kosovo-based think tank specialized in the security area. Since 2014, he is engaged in national and regional projects led by KCSS on the topics of police and defence integrity, Kosovo’s membership into Euro-Atlantic structures and international security organizations as well as on Horizon 2020 projects of the European Commission. He is author and co-author of several publications and research analysis of the KCSS on security and defence related topics.
Ambassador Giancarlo Aragona is a member of ISPI Scientific Committee. From 2011 to 2016 he was President of ISPI. After graduating in Law at the University of Messina, he joined the Italian Diplomatic Service in 1969. In 1972 he was appointed Second Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Vienna as a press officer. In 1974, he was posted as Consul in Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany).In 1977 he was appointed Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Italian Embassy in Lagos (Nigeria).
Aaron Anfinson is a Director at Critica Research and Analysis in Washington, DC. He investigates issues of counterterrorism, post-conflict response and US foreign policy. He received his doctorate at the University of Hong Kong where he also worked as a reportage photographer, documenting ongoing challenges to democratic representation.
Chris Alden teaches International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is a Research Associate with South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).
Juan Alberti is an international researcher and consultant in the field of infrastructure development. His work is focused on infrastructure policy analysis and megaproject planning, appraisal and delivery. He currently works as an external consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, with previous experience working for the public and the private sector in several countries, and other multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and various United Nations agencies (UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, IOM). At present, he is PhD (c) in Planning Studies at University College London.
