Ludovica Meacci is a freelance China analyst. She holds an MSc in Contemporary China Studies from SOAS University of London and was a 2017 Yenching scholar at Peking University. Her research interests lie in Chinese politics and foreign policy, with an emphasis on EU-China relations. Her work has appeared in the Financial Times, Foreign Policy, and Il manifesto among others.
Frank Maracchione is a PhD candidate of the School of East Asian Studies and recipient of an ESRC White Rose Pathway Award at the University of Sheffield, England. He was also a visiting research student at the Renmin University of China in Beijing, where he conducted research for his Master’s thesis on counterterrorism in Xinjiang and Central Asia. His area of interest includes Chinese foreign policy and foreign aid (particularly in Central Asia and along the Belt and Road), together with Central Asian politics and international relations.

Yang Li Allen is a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Politics, The New School for Social Research. Prior to The New School, Yang received two MA degrees, one in political science from George Mason University and the other in area studies, focusing on China and East Asia, from Yonsei University (Seoul, South Korea). Yang's academic interests relate to the divides between rural and urban China, such as comparisons of governance, policies, and experiences in the countryside and cities.
Helena Legarda is a Research Associate at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin. Her research focuses on China’s foreign and security policies, including their domestic sources and drivers, and their geopolitical impact. She is a joint lead on the China Security Project, in collaboration with the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Lorenzo Lamperti is the editorial director of China Files, an online platform that also edits a monthly magazine focused on China and Asia, and the editorial coordinator of Italy-ASEAN Association. He deals with international politics, with particular attention to East Asia and to the geopolitical dynamics between regional and global powers. He contributes for various Italian media, such as La Stampa, Il Manifesto, Affaritaliani and Eastwest.
