Fabio Petito is Senior Associate Research Fellow in ISPI and Head of the "Religions and International Relations" Programme promoted by ISPI and the Freedom of Religion or Belief & Foreign Policy Initiative (FoRB&FPI), University of Sussex - UK. He is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Sussex. He has taught at SOAS in London, the ESCP-EAP in Paris and at ‘L’Orientale’ in Naples.

The international community has begun to recognise religion’s positive role in supporting sustainable development and fostering peaceful and inclusive societies, and has increasingly sought to partner with religious communities to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda.
The conference took place in the Auditorium della Conciliazione (Rome) in the context of COOPERA2022, the National Conference on Development Cooperation. The event was held in English without translation.

The year 2022 will be remembered for many things: the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the year that both NATO and the EU published their security strategies.
