Tobia Zevi

Tobia Zevi (Ph.D.) is an Associate Research Fellow in charge of the Global Cities Programme at ISPI.

In November 2021 he has become Commissioner for Public Assets and Social Housing in the city of Rome.

Global Fellow Eisenhower in 2019, he was also Fellow in the US Government’s “International Visitors Leadership Program” (IVLP) in 2017.

Between 2015 and 2018 he was political adviser to the Italian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Loris Zanatta

Loris Zanatta is Professor of Latin American History at the University of Bologna (Italy). He is author of several books and articles, published in Europe and Latin America, and commentator on Latin America in various media. Among his works are "Del Estado liberal a la Nación católica. Jonathan Woetzel

Based in China since 1985, Dr. Jonathan Woetzel has been instrumental in building McKinsey & Company's China office. In addition to his work helping Chinese and other Asian businesses prepare for global growth, Jonathan is a director of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), McKinsey's business and economics research arm. He also leads McKinsey's Cities Special Initiative and is responsible for convening McKinsey's work with city, regional, and national authorities in more than 40 geographies around the world.

Matthew Wilson

Matthew Wilson is Associate Professor of Political Science and Senior Fellow in the John Goodwin Tower Center for Political Studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He also serves as Director of SMU’s Center for Faith and Learning, as well as Lead Curriculum Advisor for the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Liberty and Leadership Program. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Duke University, as well as a B.A. in History and Political Science from Louisiana State University.

She studied in Sciences-Po Paris and University Paris I (Panthéon- Sorbonne) She got her Ph D in Political Science in 1986. She has published 20 books, alone or as co-writer and around 150 articles.

Arturo Varvelli

Arturo Varvelli is the Head of the Rome Office and Senior Policy Fellow for the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and a Senior Associate Fellow at ISPI. He also works as a scholar on topics such as Italian-Libyan relations, Libyan domestic and foreign politics, Italian foreign policy in the Middle East and Mediterranean region, Jihadist groups in North Africa, having published both books and articles on these subjects.

Mareike Transfeld

Mareike Transfeld is the Head of Research at YPC, where she manages the research components of various projects in the fields of security sector, civil society and media. She is PhD candidate at the Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies (BGSMCS), Freie Universität Berlin. She is currently Associate Fellow at the Center for Applied Research in Partnership with the Orient in Bonn, and until 2015 was a Research Fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin.  She is a former co-editor of Muftah’s Yemen and Gulf countries pages.

Piera Tortora is the Coordinator of OECD’s Sustainable Ocean for All Initiative, aimed at supporting a transition to a global sustainable ocean economy that also the poorest and most vulnerable countries can benefit from. Piera has worked at the OECD since 2011 where, prior to leading the Sustainable Ocean for All Initiative, she led on Financing for Sustainable Development work on Small Island Developing States, Multilateral Development Finance and Transition Finance.
