Chiara Cervasio

Chiara Cervasio is a Doctoral Researcher at the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security (ICCS), the University of Birmingham and a Nuclear Policy Analyst at the British American Security Information Council (BASIC).

Chiara has a background in Political Science, International Relations, and International Security. Before completing her BSc in 2014 at the University of Pisa, she has worked as an intern at the European University Institute, Fiesole (FI). She then obtained her MSc in 2017 from the University of Bologna, specialising in Politics of Contemporary Asia.

She holds a BA in Modern Languages (English, Spanish and Arabic) from the University of Palermo and a MA in Arab and Islamic Studies from the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. She is also concluding a Master’s Degree in Economics and Institutions of Islamic Countries at the School of Government of the LUISS University, Rome. Her research interests focus on the history, institutions and society of Middle East and North Africa and the trends of contemporary Islam.

Plator Avdiu is Researcher at the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), a Kosovo-based think tank specialized in the security area. Since 2014, he is engaged in national and regional projects led by KCSS on the topics of police and defence integrity, Kosovo’s membership into Euro-Atlantic structures and international security organizations as well as on Horizon 2020 projects of the European Commission. He is author and co-author of several publications and research analysis of the KCSS on security and defence related topics.
