Marco Lanna got his Master in Architecture in Rome in 2008, and engaged right after in a PhD, promoting in 2014 with a thesis on vitality of urban spaces. Since 2010 he lives in the Netherlands and works at KAAN Architecten, where he leads complex urban projects. Since 2020 he sits in the office management.

Jeff Kingston is Director of Asian Studies and Professor of History at Temple University (Japan campus). He is a Japan Focus associate.

Dr Lina Khatib is director of the Middle East and North Africa programme at Chatham House. She was formerly director of the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut and co-founding head of the Program on Arab Reform and Democracy at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law.
Her research focuses on the international relations of the Middle East, Islamist groups and security, political transitions and foreign policy, with special attention to the Syrian conflict.
Timothy E. Kaldas is a non-resident fellow at TIMEP focusing on political analysis. His research interests include transitional politics in Egypt, regime survival strategies, and US-Egyptian relations. Beyond Egypt, his research examines the social and political history of sectarianism in Iraq, US policy towards the Arab-Israeli conflict, and discrimination against Muslim Europeans, particularly in France. He is a visiting professor at Nile University in Cairo. Mr. Kaldas holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Vladana Jarakovic is media analyst at CRTA - Center for Research Transparency and Accountability. She graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, where she’s currently finishing master studies. After working in the law office and passing the bar exam, she joined CRTA team in February 2017. She’s convinced that establishing of the rule of law is the aim worth of everyday struggle.
Amr Hamzawy was a senior associate in the Middle East program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace between 2005 and 2009. Between 2009 and 2010, he served as the research director of the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut, Lebanon. He has also served on the faculty at the American University in Cairo, Cairo University, and Stanford University. Alessandro Gili is an Associate Research Fellow at the ISPI Centre on Business Scenarios (supported by Intesa Sanpaolo) and at the Centre on Infrastructure. He holds a Master in International Trade and Internationalization of Enterprises from the Italian Trade Agency, after obtaining a Master's Degree in International Relations at LUISS University of Rome and attending a course in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics (LSE).
A graduate of University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’, Gennaro Gervasio is currently Associate Professor in History and Politics of the Middle East and North Africa at University Roma Tre’s Department of Humanities in Italy. Prior to that, he has worked at the University of Bristol (UK), the British University in Egypt, and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia where he was Director of the Centre of Middle East and North African Studies (2009/11).
Aldo Ferrari (PhD) is Head of the Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia Program at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan. He is Professor of Armenian Culture, History of the Caucasus and Central Asia, and History of the Russian Culture at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, where he is also Director of the ELEO Master’s Degree in Languages and Economies of Eastern Europe. Co-founder (2004) and President (2013-2016) of the Association of Italian Studies on Central Asia and the Caucasus (ASIAC), he is Editor of the series “Eurasiatica.
