Piera Tortora

Piera Tortora is the Coordinator of OECD’s Sustainable Ocean for All Initiative, aimed at supporting a transition to a global sustainable ocean economy that also the poorest and most vulnerable countries can benefit from. Piera has worked at the OECD since 2011 where, prior to leading the Sustainable Ocean for All Initiative, she led on Financing for Sustainable Development work on Small Island Developing States, Multilateral Development Finance and Transition Finance.

Máximo Torero Cullen

Dr. Máximo Torero Cullen is the Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He joined the Organization in January 2019 as Assistant Director-General for the Economic and Social Development Department. Prior to joining FAO, he was the World Bank Group Executive Director for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay since November 2016 and before the Bank Dr. Torero led the Division of the Markets, Trade, and Institutions at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Daniel Thumpston

Daniel Thumpston is a PhD student at SOAS, University of London in the department of politics and international studies. His research is within political economy and international relations with a focus on China. His research interests are centred around Chinese and European trade and investment policy, in particular the dynamics of the Belt and Road Initiative and Digital Silk Road in Europe. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he worked in research and consultancy roles in the UK and China. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and French.

In 2012 he published I Giorni del Dragone (Informant), an ebook about the struggle for power within the CCP.

Lucia Tajoli

Lucia Tajoli is Full Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Management Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano. Previously she was a Lecturer at Bocconi University and then an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan. She received her degree in Political Economy in 1988 and a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University in 1994.

Simone Tagliapietra

Simone Tagliapietra is a Senior fellow at Bruegel. He is also Adjunct professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and at The Johns Hopkins University – SAIS Europe. Simone’s research activity focuses on climate and energy issues. He works on the EU climate and energy policy and on the political economy of global decarbonisation. With a record of numerous scientific publications, he is also the author of Global energy fundamentals (Cambridge University Press, 2020) and L’energia del mondo (Il Mulino, 2020).

Gaia Taffoni was a research trainee at ISPI and a PhD. student in Political Studies at the University of Milan, NASP. She holds a BA in International Studies at University of Bologna and an MA in International Relations, European Institutions curriculum, at the University of Bologna. Her research interests focus on the European external action, European foreign policy toward the MENA region and democratisation processes.

Antonio Sileo
