Olesya Vartanyan has worked on conflicts in the South Caucasus for almost 15 years. She has been with International Crisis Group since 2016, researching and producing reports on regional security issues in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, with a particular focus on breakaway regions in the South Caucasus – Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh and South Ossetia.
Eleonora Tafuro Ambrosetti is a research fellow at the Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia Centre at ISPI. Prior to that, she was a Marie Curie fellow based at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey, where she has also pursued her PhD. She has had research stays at the Saint Petersburg State University and at the London headquarters of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).
Maxim A. Suchkov, PhD, is an Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. Currently, he is the Director of the Center for the Advanced American Studies (CAAS) at MGIMO. He is also non-resident scholar at the Middle East Institute, non-resident expert of the Russian International Affairs Council and of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
Alfredo Sasso is a researcher who has specialized in contemporary history and social-political affairs of the (post)-Yugoslav region. Since 2016, he is a regular collaborator of Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa as analyst and news correspondent, particularly focusing on Bosnia-Herzegovina. He contributes to a variety of media, cultural and research organizations about contemporary history and post-Yugoslav area.
Dr Kateryna Pishchikova is an Associate Research Fellow at ISPI and an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the eCampus University. She was a visiting scholar at the Cornell University, NY as well as the Transatlantic Academy and the Kennan Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Centre for International Studies, both in Washington, DC
Lorenzo Parola is a partner at Paul Hastings and is one of the most prominent energy lawyers in Italy. Lorenzo is admitted to the Italian Supreme Court and as a Solicitor of England and Wales. Lorenzo has assisted domestic and international corporations and private equity funds in M&A transactions in the energy sector, with a particular focus on renewable enercy, and project finance. Fabio Parola has served as a Research Assistant for the ISPI Centre on Europe and Global Governance. He currently is a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission, in the DG for Communication. From 2015 to 2018, he worked as a junior reporter for the Trento bureau of Corriere della Sera. After a bachelor in Political Sociology, he obtained a MA degree in International Relations and EU Studies from University of Trento and Metropolitan University Prague. He is president of Club Alpbach Trentino, a non-profit association promoting the European Forum Alpbach.
