Anthony Pipa is a senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution, where he studies place-based policies to improve social progress in the United States and globally, including through use of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. He is also considering the future of U.S. multilateral aid and the applicability of lessons from international development to improving rural development in the U.S.

Christos Peristianis is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Sociology, University of Essex, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. He has a Master's degree from the University of Bologna in Research and Studies in Eastern Europe, with a focus on History and Sociology; a Master 1st Level from La Sapienza University of Rome in International Policies and Crisis Management and a Bachelor's in European Studies from the European University Cyprus.
Gulshan Pashayeva is Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She previously worked at the United Nations Office in Azerbaijan as National Programme Coordinator for the UN Women (UNIFEM) project “Women for ConflictPrevention and Peacebuilding in the Caucasus” (2001-2006), and as a Public Information Associate for the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI).
Jagannath Panda is an Associated Research Fellow at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (Stockholm), and Series Editor of the Routledge Studies on Think Asia. He joined MP-IDSA in 2006. He is in charge of East Asia Centre’s academic and administrative activities, including Track-II and Track-1.5 dialogues with Chinese, Japanese and Korean think-tanks/institutes. He is a recipient of the V. K. Krishna Menon Memorial Gold Medal (2000) from the Indian Society of International Law & Diplomacy in New Delhi.
Dr. Mariya Y. Omelicheva is a Professor of Strategy at National War College. She holds PhD (2007) in Political Science from Purdue University and JD in International Law (2000) from Moscow National Law Academy. Dr. Omelicheva’s research and teaching interests include international and Eurasian security, counterterrorism and human rights, democracy promotion in the post-Soviet territory, Russia’s foreign and security policy, gender and security, and crime-terror nexus in Eurasia.
Mattia Olivari is an Economist working in the OECD Innovation Policies for Space and Oceans Unit, in the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). His current research focuses on the assessment of socio-economic impacts of space policies, as well as on the analysis and development of economic and innovation indicators related to space industries. Mattia contributed to and authored several reports and scientific papers published internally to the OECD as well as in external journals.
Janka Oertel is the Director of the Asia Programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations. She previously worked as a Senior Fellow in the Asia Program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States’ Berlin office, where she focused on the transatlantic China policy (including emerging technologies), Chinese foreign policy, and security in East Asia. Prior to joining GMF, she served as a program director at Körber Foundation’s Berlin office. She holds a PhD from the University of Jena. Her dissertation focused on Chinese policies within the United Nations.
Dr. Ngeow Chow-Bing is the Director of the Institute of China Studies at the University of Malaya. In addition, he has also been appointed a Special Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute for Global Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (2017-2020).
Paola Morselli is a Research Trainee at ISPI. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, with a specific focus on Korea, Japan and Cina, and is currently enrolled in the Master in European and International Studies at the University of Trento. As an exchange student she also spent an academic year at Seoul National University in South Korea.
