Valeria Talbot is a Senior Research Fellow and Co-Head of ISPI's Middle East and North Africa Centre, in charge of Middle East Studies. She also is a lecturer at the Master in Middle Eastern Studies in ASERI – Catholic University, and at the IULM University of Milan. She was ISPI scientific coordinator of Arab Trans, a FP7 funded research project on political and social transformations in the Arab World after the Arab uprisings in 2010-2011.
Eleonora Tafuro Ambrosetti is a Research Fellow at the Russia, Caucasus and Central Asia Centre at ISPI. Prior to that, she was a Marie Curie Fellow based at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, where she is also pursuing her PhD. She was a Visiting Fellow at the Saint Petersburg State University and at the London headquarters of the ECFR. She has also worked as a junior researcher at the Brussels office of FRIDE and as a research assistant at CIDOB in Barcelona.
Maxim A. Suchkov, PhD, is an Associate Research Fellow at ISPI. Currently, he is the editor of Al-Monitor’s Russia-Mideast coverage. He also is a non-resident expert of the Russian International Affairs Council and of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
Suchkov was a Fulbright visiting fellow at Georgetown University (2010-11) and New York University (2015). Maxim’s areas of interest include Russian foreign policy, US-Russia relations, security and counter-terrorism in the Middle East. In addition to his native Russian, he speaks English and Spanish.
Claudia Schmucker has been head of the DGAP's Globalization and World Economy Program since 2002. She has published extensively on European and transatlantic trade policy, the world trade organization (WTO) and the Doha Round as well as on the role of informal global forums such as the G7 and the G20
She studied at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, at Elmira College in New York state, and at Yale University. She holds an MA in North American studies and a PhD in economics from the Freie Universität, Berlin.
Armando Sanguini is Senior Scientific Advisor at ISPI. He started his diplomatic career as commercial attaché in Ethiopia and then in Spain as Vice-Ambassador.
Nicolò Rossetto is a PhD. student in Law and Economics at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori (IUSS) in Pavia (Italy). His main research field is energy markets and their regulation, with a special emphasis on electricity and distributed generation. He also has a vested interest in European energy policy since he wrote his master's thesis about policy developments occurred under Prodi’s and Barroso’s terms in office (2010). At the moment, he is a teaching assistant of microeconomics and energy economics at the University of Pavia.
