Lucia Tajoli is Full Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Management Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano. Previously she was a Lecturer at Bocconi University and then an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan. She received her degree in Political Economy in 1988 and a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University in 1994.

Michele Sorice is a Full Professor at Luiss University, Rome, where he teaches Democratic Innovation and Political Sociology. At Luiss University, Michele is also director of the Centre for Conflict and Participation Studies (CCPS), member of the Scientific Committee of the international PhD in Political Theory and Political Sociology and of the Scientific Board of the School of Government. Member of several national and international scientific societies, Michele has been Honorary Professor at University of Stirling, Scotland, UK.

Giulia Sciorati is a Research Assistant at the ISPI Asia Centre, for the China Programme supported by Pirelli. Prior to that, she was a Visiting Fellow at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) in Brussels and at the School of Politics and International Relations of the University of Nottingham. She holds a combined BA in Foreign Languages and International Relations from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, and an MA in African and Asian Studies from the University of Pavia.
Francesco Salesio Schiavi is Research Trainee for the MENA Centre at ISPI. He holds a Bachelor's in History and a Master's in History and Oriental Studies from the University of Bologna. He has successfully concluded the TOMidEast Summer School at the University of Turin, andhasrecently completed a Master in Middle Eastern Studies (MIMES) at the Postgraduate School of Economics and International Relations (ASERI), Milan.
Alessandro Rubino is Lecturer in Economics at the University of Bari. Before completing his PhD in Energy Economics, he has worked at Ofgem as a Regulatory Economist. In addition, he has worked on the design and implementation of the incentive scheme for the national transmission system operator for gas and electricity. From June 2009 to July 2012, he has been a Research Assistant at the Florence School of Regulation (European University Institute) within the Robert Schuman Centre, a research unit specialised in applied economics.
