L’Unione Europea torna ad affidarsi a una filosofia bizzarramente marxista elaborata da liberali (l’economia determina la politica che condiziona la strategia), innestata su una sequenza rigorosamente cartesiana di trattati trascinati da un calendario.

Kuchma's 2004 costitutional reforms actually prevented any meaningful reform and left the oligarchs in their place. On his part Yushchenko, victim of his own desire to find a compromise with the old power, vetoed a second round of privatizations, which would have limited the oligarchs, causing a fierce contrast with Tymoshenko and her dismissal.
After his election, Yanukovych made approve an uncostitutional modification of the parliamentary regulations, strengthening his role to the detriment of other institutions.

Turkmenistan’s political course is changing. After almost 15 years of isolationism under the autocratic rule of former president Saparmurat Niyazov, coupled with strong economic dependency upon Russia, Ashgabat has recently launched a “multivector” foreign and commercial policy. The latter is based on Turkmenistan's oil resources and more especially on its gas resources. Ashgabat is eager to strengthen the country’s energy ties and economic cooperation with China, Iran, the US and Europe, although Russia remains Turkmenistan’s main economic partner.
